Writing

I have had the opportunity to write for some wonderful publications over the years. I began my career as a journalist at The Emporia Gazette and learned so much from my experiences there. Emporia is an amazing community with so many exciting things and awesome people to write about.

While at the Emporia Gazette, I also had the chance to write for the Chase County Leader News. Chase County is a gorgeous county nestled in the Kansas Flint Hills. If you have never visited the Flint Hills I encourage you to do so. Chase County is a beautiful collision of rural life and arts and culture. I had the opportunity to cover everything from the yearly burning of the prairie to the Symphony in the Flint Hills.

I’ve written for multiple regional publications, like Emporia Living, Sallie Magazine, Junction City Living, Kansas, OK Today, and Nebraska Now. I love working with regional magazines to highlight the people and places that make their town or state so special.

After my time in Emporia, I made the move to McPherson, Ks. There I was the editor of the McPherson News-Ledger. I remained in that position until I could no longer work full-time due to kidney failure. Dialysis really interferes with a full-time work schedule.

Recently, I have been writing more ebooks, many of which you can find in my online store. I also create digital content and work on freelance projects as they come up. If you have a writing project you need assistance with, please reach out to me. I would be happy to help.
